The absurd rule that will prevent Madison Keys from competing in the WTA Austin

Madison Keys had been scheduled to compete in the WTA 250 in Austin, held from February 24 to March 2. What the American did not expect was that having won the Australian Open and consequently returned to the top 10 would close the doors to this commitment for her. The tournament itself sadly had to recall that WTA rule that prevents an event of this category from having two top 10 players in its lineup. As they explain well, Jessica Pegula (#6) is confirmed to play in Austin on the aforementioned dates, thus any possibility of Keys also participating is canceled after the rise of the Rock Island tennis player. A complete nonsense that only confirms the room for improvement ahead for the women's circuit.
