The best player in the world is already at the ATP Rolex Paris Masters 2024. Jannik Sinner returns to the French capital to compete in the last event before the ATP Finals and the Copa Davis. The Italian will seek to perform well in a tournament that, due to conditions, is more challenging than usual. However, a year as good as this one can help him give his best if he also wants to warm up for Turin. Sinner spoke with the media before his debut, which will be in the second round, where he could face Ben Shelton or a qualifier. He commented on the newly approved rule that will be implemented next year concerning on-court coaching, allowing coaches to advise players during matches. Additionally, he discussed how he is mentally preparing to face this final part of the year.

- Excited to do well this year in Paris

"It's been a long season, but whenever you reach the end, anything can happen. Some players are a bit fresher and others are more tired. But personally, I am happy to be back here. This has been a tournament where I haven't been able to find my best tennis yet. We'll see what I can do this year; hopefully, it will be a good one, but it will also be very tough."

- On the approval of coaching on-court starting in 2025

"I don't think things are going to change significantly. Even now, some coaches still give advice from time to time. I believe in this sport you are alone as a player on the court and you try to understand the situation by yourself. You already have a connection with the coach, so you understand what they are talking about and suggesting, so I don't think things will change much. We didn't see a big change when there was no coach because you see the coach, you've understood them for years, and you know what to expect."

- On the difficulty of the draw and his potential first opponent, who could be Shelton

"It's a very tough draw, especially here on these courts. There are big servers who are very difficult. So yes, it's complicated, but we'll take it day by day. Anything can happen. The draw can open up sometimes; you never know what will happen. I'm trying to prepare myself as best as possible for my first-round match. It will be very tough if it's against Ben. I'm looking forward to it, focused on myself, and hopefully, I can raise my level compared to the last two years I've been through here, where I've struggled a bit on this court."

- What is your level of freshness before the ATP Finals and the Copa Davis?

"I think we've made some very good decisions throughout the year, trying to be prepared for the end of the year as well. I've also been lucky not to have played many tournaments and to always go far in them, which has been very good for me. My level seems to be good. I will answer these questions later on the court, but in general, speaking of my mental state, it's good. I'm happy to be here, and obviously, my main event in Turin is the key year-end event. One of my goals since the beginning of the year was to qualify, so we'll see."
